Review our holiday visit tips to prepare for your festive trip to the Museum.

The holidays are the busiest time at Griffin MSI! We expect a lot of visitors between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. so please plan ahead for crowds. 

As long as you bring your membership card (physical or digital), valid photo ID and any additional tickets you may have purchased in advance (printed or on your mobile device), you can go straight to the entry checkpoint at the top of the escalators leading into the Museum.

Tickets sell out quickly during the holidays, so be sure to book your tickets in advance online or over the phone with our Member Services Team at (773) 947-3161. To enter an exhibit you will just need to have your exhibit tickets printed or on your mobile device for scanning.

Parking must be validated prior to leaving the Museum’s parking garage. Please stop by the Membership Desk in Entry Hall or the Members Lounge in order to validate your ticket.

Please remember that Family Level members and above are eligible to have one caregiver bring children into the Museum without the primary card holders. We strongly recommend calling our Member Services Team at (773) 947-3161 in advance of your caregiver’s visit to ensure they are listed on your account and to review the Museum’s policies.

Please note that caregivers must be listed on the account and present a photo ID and a cardholder’s digital or physical card to enter the Museum.

Under the Family Level membership, teenagers age 16 and 17 with a photo ID are able to use their parents’ membership card to obtain free Museum entry and other benefits (dependent on their level) without a parent present. Children 15 and under require adult supervision in the building at all times.

If your child is 18 or older and living in the household you may consider adding them as the secondary cardholder so they can visit on their own. For more information and to make this switch contact the Member Services Team at (773) 947-3161.

Make sure to check the Museum hours prior to your visit as we will have some extended hours dates throughout the holiday season. During this time Members Lounge hours will be:

Monday – Friday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ticketing, membership sales/renewals, parking and coffee service available. 

Saturday and Sunday: Museum hours
Ticketing, membership sales/renewals, parking and coffee service available.
